just a little "lift-you-up"

Relax in the knowledge that HE who controls your life is totally trustworthy. He desires for you to come to him with confident expectations because there is NOTHING you need that HE cannot provide.

I read this quote this morning on one of my friends blogs and it just lifted me up so much. I think so many times we try and do things on our own because we think we can handle it or have the best solution, but the Lord just wants us to give it him. The Bible is a historical record of the absolute reliability of God’s promises. The Bible's promises have always proven trustworthy, so you can count on them. He is completely trustworthy and has never given us any reason to doubt that he will take care of it but as humans we make the process so difficult. So I pray that as you read this the Lord will speak to you about things that he just wants to take off your mind, heart or conscience and just fill that place with his love, compassion and sovereignty.

Psalms 145:13 ...The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

Kelsey's Lingerie Shower

the "Bride-to-Be"

oooooh, how sweet

Fun decorations

P.S. No, Terri & I didn't go to the Lingerie Shower. We were told by the bride-to-be to stop by later so that we could see all of the pretty things that she got! And no, we are not posting photos of all the pretty "unmentionables". Some things do have to remain private you know!

Brett & Kelsey's "His & Hers Shower"

"Thanks" to Nonny, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Vickie, April & Granny Rose for hosting such a beautiful event!

"Thanks" to all of our friends & family for the gifts but most of all

It was actually Brooke's Birthday, but she wasn't able to come. However, we did celebrate Sommer's upcoming birthday with one of Edgar's Chocolate Cakes which was absolutely divine!!

This actually the first time that Bethany and I got to meet Josiah in person. Of course we had to pass him around and get some of that "Baby Love".

Isn't he the cutest thing ever?

Then, of course, Mama T had to get her hands on him!!

Brett's Thesis Project Opening

Brett's Thesis Project was absolutely amazing! Brett & the "State Park Team" designed and built the entire project at Lion's Park in Greensboro, Alabama. The Tony Hawk Foundation was a huge supporter for the project. There were several Skate Teams present at the opening and several visitors from throughout the southeast. The weather was perfect and the opening was a huge success!

This is a structure at the entrance to the Skate Park which they designed and built.

Some of the visitors trying out the new park.

Brett & Kelsey watching some of the skaters and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Randy and Tony - Not only is Tony a family friend, but he is a master welder. He donated his time & skill to help Brett meet his deadline Thanks to Tony for not only helping, but for taking time out of your busy schedule to come to the opening.

Randy, Brett, Kelsey, Bethany and myself posing entrance sign to Lions Park. The entrance gates are also really cool. They were also designed and made by Brett and the Architecture students at Rural Studio.

Brett ~
We are sooo very proud of you and your thesis project and the final result - WOW! It is definitely a WOW PROJECT! We are also proud of you and your involvement in the project at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. I am glad that you & Kelsey are gonna get to go to London to take part in the opening of the project. You really are my "ST-ARchitect!

Easter 2010

I hope and trust that everyone's Easter was enjoyable as ours. It was the perfect day outside, no surprise since Christ rose on that day 2,000 years ago. We went to mom & dad's church and then went and ate with the whole family. It was such a enjoyable day & having Kelsey there to enjoy it with made it even better.

my favorite pastime

this past weekend some of my friends and I went hiking at Oak Mountain State Park. 75 degrees, sunny with a bit of wind made for a completely perfect day. we hiked to Pee Vine Falls and a little beyond. here are some of the beautiful pictures from nature.

We also visited a house that Lily's family owns along the Cahaba River.
it was awesome

We ended the night by eating at the Olive Branch in Vestavia.
It was so wonderful and really fun since they
serve your food in a perfect size pyrex dish

spring has sprung

I received an ENO hammock for Christmas this past year and I've decided that it's one of the best presents I've ever gotten. Especially now!! These two trees are in our front yard and they are the perfect width apart for my little hammy. It has perfect shade for the warmer spring days that we've had lately. It's just such a perfect place to go in order to relax and read/listen to my iPod. Just thought I would share the enjoyment.

enough time to find one.

Spring has Sprung

i found this today & it made me smile. so many times i get sucked into my computer when the Lord has blessed me with such an amazing, beautiful day outside. i get distracted so easily & make excuses but my goal for the next few weeks is to put down my computer
& phone & any other electronics and GO OUTSIDE and just sit in the hammock and enjoy the
beautiful world that the Lord has blessed us with.
YOU SHOULD DO IT TOO
