Girls Trip

Fall Break turned into an opportunity to go to the mountains.

Today it rained ALL DAY so we went to the outlet mall, cooked tomato-basil

grilled chicken wraps, homemade guacamole, did a workout, and enjoyed

the evening in the jacuzzi, and watching a movie.

Tomorrow we are going to eat breakfast at Pancake Pantry (YUM)
and drive and look at all the beautiful mountains and trees. 

Home for the weekend . . .

So as you probably know by reading the title, I went home this weekend.

It was so nice because I haven't been home in over a month and since Alabama

played away this weekend, it gave me the perfect opportunity to visit.

We did all kinds of fun fall-ish things. Thanks mom & dad for a great weekend.

I can't wait for our fall break Gatlinburg trip.

To have a party, this ingredient is a must.

I made homemade pumpkin spice cupcakes with

cream cheese spice frosting & candy corn. They were the

perfect dessert after dinner.

We also made candy apples.

They look really good but

we didn't get the candy hot enough, so it didn't harden.

It made for a really pretty picture though.

The next morning I made cinnamon rolls from this website.

They are so quick, easy, and delicious.

Nothing says fall like a bonfire.

On Saturday afternoon before the football games came on,

we went hiking. This is by far one

of my favorite things to do during the fall.

It was such a beautiful day.

last weekend so I thought I would upload some pictures from the trip.

Bethany's New Ride

I waited for Bethany to post pictures of her new car but she never did,

so I'm gonna do it for her.

Working & saving her money finally paid off!

All she needs now is her University of Alabama tag

(that she also bought with her very own money)

and she'll be ecstatic!

New addition to Apt. 24 [UPDATE]

Here's the rug! Made from 100% 1/4" F3 Wool Felt! Brett has been working with an industrial felt vendor for the Craigslist project, and thought of the great idea of ordering a sample for our new rug.

The material is naturally colored (the light gray comes from the wool found in Chilean sheep) and contains no dyes. I thought that was pretty interesting!

Hey Brett & Kelsey,

Just wanted to bring you up to date on my new ride. Between work and church and the beach and weddings and funerals and dad's surgery and everything else . . .

We finally found what we (I) wanted and were able to slow down long enough to be able to actually go and get it.

Here it is . . . my Pearl White Toyota Highlander which I totally

love or really like a whole, whole, whole lot!!!!!

I also threw in a picture of Bethany in the back seat that I took on the

way home from the wedding Friday Night.

It's soooo spacious & roomy. We can't wait for you two to ride in it with us!

Pixar is headquartered in Emeryville, CA (which is a few miles from our apartment in Oakland) and is super secretive. You see, the campus – yes it's literally a huge campus with swimming pools, soccer fields, multiple buildings and all – is private and closed to the public. So when our friend from church David (who works there) asked us if we would want to come to the 25th Anniversary party/grand opening of their new building, we immediately said YES! This party was so much fun. There was tons of free food, drinks, desserts, photobooth machines, video machines that made your own mini flip book, and more. We hope to get another chance to visit again soon!

Went on a little beach trip a couple of weeks ago. It was so relaxing. Still a little chilly to layout in a swimsuit but laying in the sand with a blanket and a good book was just as relaxing. I love SEASIDE so much. The community is just so quaint.
