Alabama Theatre

The Alabama Theatre does a tradiiton every year called "The Holiday Film Series".
They open the theatre up and play old and new christmas movies the entire month of December.
It is so much fun to go to. So me & a few friends from church
went on Saturday night & saw "White Christmas"
It was so much fun, this place is so beautiful.

One of my favorite things about their Christmas movie series is the man playing
the old organ at the beginning. Everyone sings Christmas carols together.
This was our view. (pic below)

This chandelier is one of the prettiest things in the theatre.

Me & some of the girls in the group.

Funny/awkward story: This man(whom looks like Santa Claus) sat behind us during
the movie. I wanted to get my picture with him the entire time but kept chickening out.
After the movie was over, we walked into the lobby and saw him sitting in this chair.
We just jumped to the conclusion that he was obviously the santa for the Alabama Theatre.
So considering the circumstances at this point...I ran over, jumped in his lap and started chatting
with him. I asked why he didn't have a line of people waiting to sit on
his lap. Turns out, he WASN'T the Santa for the Alabama Theatre. He was just a nice old
man who happened to look like Santa. He was only sitting in the chair while he
waited on his wife and daughter to use the restroom. Let's just say everyone
got a good laugh out of the situation. He was a good sport though. And his wife and daughter thought it was quite hilarious when they saw what had happened.
I hope you are all having a great holiday season.

Christmas Baking

Three of my friends have a birthday this month so last night we went out
to eat to celebrate all of them. I finally make CAKEPOPS.
They turned out great & were so yummy.
I also did some holiday baking this week.
Homemade Gingerbread: BEFORE
AFTER
This tree was my favorite.

To celebrate our 30th Anniversary next year, Randy and I along with some close friends from church took a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. Not only is the largest ship in the world, but we were on a voyage that had the most individuals on a cruise ship ever departing from Ft. Lauderdale. It was filled to capacity with approximately 6,000 guests and 2,900 crew members. This ship was absolutely incredible to say the least.

First view of the ship as we pulled into Port Everglades

This photo has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the cruise. As we were leaving the port
in Ft. Lauderdale, this home was along the banks of the bay and for some reason it made
me think of Brett & Kelsey. Just looked like something they might live in.
I just thought it was beautiful!

This was our room which had a balcony overlooking the ocean.

View from top of ship. To the left the putt-putt course
and to the right is the basketball goal.
The two blue squares in the front were two flow riders.

First nights show was the Broadway Musical "Hairspray"
one word "AMAZING"
OMG - IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!

Dinner

Central Park

1st Stop was Labadee, Haiti

Aqua Show with one of two Rock Climbing Walls n the background.

2nd Stop - Falmouth, Jamaica.
Photo is Montego Bay.

Somebody in Jamaica had way too much time on their hands
and all they could find to do is dress up a horse.

I just thought Bethany would love this house in Jamaica. It's GREEN!!!

Randy and Micah atop the floating wall in Cozumel.

All of the decorations aboard the ship were just beautiful.
This is a picture of us in front of a huge Christmas Tree
that was located on the Promenade Deck.

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life.

Big Sur Camping Trip

After a delicious Thanksgiving potluck dinner at our pastor's house last Thursday night, Brett and I decided to take advantage of our Friday off from work and use our long weekend to go camping in Big Sur. It was a lot of fun, and the weather cooperated perfectly with our plans – high in the low 70s and clear sunny skies! See below for some phone shots I took while we were there.

Glad to hear that that Thanksgiving in AL was so much fun! We missed being there with you guys, but can't wait for Christmas!

feliz noviembre

Things have been a little hectic around here so it's been a while since a post...
so I thought I would break the chain and show a little of
whats been happening.
This past week i went home for thanksgiving. It was great to
just lounge around and help nonna bake, a lot.
Here are some pictures of the week.

As everyone probably knows, the new rave are cake pops,
so me and Nonna thought we would give it a go.
They were insanely delicious.
If I do say so myself.
We also made 4 pecan pies. They were so pretty.
This has nothing to do with food but I thought it was entertaining.
&& I knew B&K would get a good laugh out of it.
This is uncle Dewaynes shirt on thanksgiving.
He is such a cowboy.

&& of course what else comes after thanksgiving..
other than being miserably full??
BLACK FRIDAY. yes, I shopped, for 10 hours straight. We left the house
at 8pm and I didn't get home around 5am. I almost die of an impaled pelvis at Walmart
by a buggy while trying to get a $2.84 waffle maker. People are C R A Z Y.

This is the line at BELK. Their doors opened at 3am and they had boots for $19.99
This picture was taken at 1am. & yes, it was freezing.

And lastly to round up the week. Mom & Dad are currently on a cruise....
As I was dreadfully walking to class this morning in the freezing cold rain,
I received this picture. It made me so envious.
They are currently on THE BIGGEST SHIP IN THE WORLD.
Oasis of the Seas. Complete with a Central Park & zipline. You should google it.
It's insane what this ship has.
I just know they are having a great time eating all-u-can-eat ice cream
& free room service.

LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL.
26 DAYS TILL B&K COME HOME.

"Fall"-ing into Winter

Our day started with a fabulous breakfast at Pancake Pantry.
And of course, I got my yearly fix
"Peanut Butter Syrup"
Y-U-M-M-M-M

We were a bit reluctant to go to Pancake Pantry because Randy was
not able to join us at the last minute and this is his absolute
favorite place to eat breakfast.  However, after we thought
about it (for about 1 second),
we knew it is what he would want us to do.
So we pretty much went just for him!!!!

Noooooo, I did not eat both servings that morning.  I carried the
other serving with me and ate it for breakfast Sunday morning.
I couldn't waste something sooooo good!!!

After breakfast we proceeded to the
Roaring Forks Motor Nature Trail . . .

Beautiful Fall Foliage

and then "much to our surprise"
S-N-O-W

What a fun-fun weekend!!

(We missed you Randy and Brett & Kelsey.)

Girls Trip

Fall Break turned into an opportunity to go to the mountains.

Today it rained ALL DAY so we went to the outlet mall, cooked tomato-basil
grilled chicken wraps, homemade guacamole, did a workout, and enjoyed
the evening in the jacuzzi, and watching a movie.

Tomorrow we are going to eat breakfast at Pancake Pantry (YUM)
and drive and look at all the beautiful mountains and trees.

Home for the weekend . . .

So as you probably know by reading the title, I went home this weekend.
It was so nice because I haven't been home in over a month and since Alabama
played away this weekend, it gave me the perfect opportunity to visit.

We did all kinds of fun fall-ish things. Thanks mom & dad for a great weekend.
I can't wait for our fall break Gatlinburg trip.

To have a party, this ingredient is a must.

I made homemade pumpkin spice cupcakes with
cream cheese spice frosting & candy corn. They were the
perfect dessert after dinner.

We also made candy apples.

They look really good but
we didn't get the candy hot enough, so it didn't harden.

It made for a really pretty picture though.

The next morning I made cinnamon rolls from this website.
They are so quick, easy, and delicious.

Nothing says fall like a bonfire.

On Saturday afternoon before the football games came on,
we went hiking. This is by far one
of my favorite things to do during the fall.

It was such a beautiful day.

Hope you all had a splendid weekend.
